Community and connection are the ties that bind Jan and Steve Riven to MBA. Mr. Riven has served on the Board of Trustees for over 31 years, and the Riven family has been longtime supporters and fans of the school. According to Riven, their son Jay ('88) clearly has benefitted from his time at MBA in his current success as a school administrator in Dallas, Texas.
When asked about his family's recent gift to renovate the art facility, Riven emphasized his belief in the importance of connection and balance. The art program, as one of many extracurricular activities at MBA, helps the students grow to be well-rounded.
Riven's hope is that MBA students will find the newly renovated art facility to be a place of discovery, that they and their parents will be enlightened by the experience of creating art in this space, and that maybe "artist" will be as synonymous with the MBA ideal as Gentleman, Scholar, Athlete.
