Wilson Grants for Junior School Students

Wilson Grants for Junior School Students

MBA is pleased to offer Wilson Grants for Junior School students for the summer of 2025.  The purpose of these grants is to reward excellence and to offer students the opportunity to pursue, explore, and strengthen personal interests in a variety of academic fields and artistic interests.

DEADLINES FOR SUMMER 2025 APPLICATIONS ARE:
     - MBA IN ROME - FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6, 2024
     - LANDMARKS OF AMERICAN HISTORY - MONDAY, JANUARY 13, 2025
     - ACADEMIC-BASED GRANTS - MONDAY, JANUARY 13, 2025

MBA in Rome and the American History trip are planned and led by MBA faculty. All costs associated with these trips are covered by the Wilson Grant. For individual Academic-Based programs, the Wilson Grant will cover the cost of tuition (full or partial) for the course or program. Additional travel costs will be considered, but not guaranteed.

Students are expected to research their program of interest before completing the application process.  We encourage students to submit thoughtful work when submitting the application, particularly with regard to the essay portion.  Please note that the application for non-MBA sponsored grants *must* include a proposed budget of expenses in order to be considered. This includes identifying all direct participation costs, pertinent travel costs, and attendance dates as indicated on the application.  (This does not apply to the MBA in Rome or American History trip grant applications as those are MBA directed trips.)

If funds are available, the award may also include a stipend for travel to and from programs out of the area.  Travel costs, if approved, will be reimbursed directly to families by the school.  All expenses for MBA Directed Trips are paid directly by Montgomery Bell Academy.

We respectfully ask that students apply for no more than two grants and suggest that they spend time creating thoughtful, quality applications.

Listed below are two types of programs:  MBA Directed Trips (two options) and Academic-based grants.

Students may also propose participation in a program or research project of their choosing (i.e., not on the pre-approved list), but must receive approval of that proposal from the Director of Junior School prior to submitting their applications.  Please seek approval for it as soon as possible by providing information about the program directly to Mrs. Cobb.
