Visual Art Students Receive Numerous Awards

     
MBA had 14 students represented in the Teens Take the Frist over the summer. This exhibit showcases students' work that explores this year's theme of nature in a variety of media. Those chosen had their work on display from July 13 - August 11, 2024, and included Easom Calfee ('26), Asher Cornelius ('27), Charlie Griffin ('27), James Hood ('26), Wynn Humphrey ('27), Avery Jacobson ('26), Max Loudenslager ('26), Nicholas Lucas ('25), Luke Richardson ('29), Charlie Roberts ('25), Owen Rouse ('26), Spencer Simmons ('26), Jack Stanley ('25), and Haami Yassin ('24).
    
Three MBA Advanced Placement Art students were selected for the 10th Biennial Young Tennessee Artists Exhibit, also organized and hosted by the Frist Art Museum. Works were selected by a jury of artists, educators, and museum professionals; those accepted into this show were Michael Kong ('24), Jes Johnson ('24), and Alexander Reddy ('24). Their work will be on display in the Conté Community Arts Gallery from Sept. 6, 2024 - March 16, 2025.
     
Spencer Simmons ('26) also received a prestigious National Silver Medal in the Scholastic Art & Writing Award competition for his painting titled "Money Does Grow on Trees".
