23 Inducted Into the Cum Laude Society


Eleven seniors, ten juniors, and two MBA staff members were inducted into MBA's Cum Laude Society on Monday, April 1. Founded in 1906, the Cum Laude Society honors individuals with superior academic achievements. The first chapter was founded in 1906 by Dr. Abram W. Harris of the Tome School in Port Deposit, Maryland. The Cum Laude Society evaluates secondary schools for membership by examining the school's academic qualifications, the credentials of the school's faculty, and the college choices of the school's graduates. MBA's chapter was founded in 1981.
     
Ms. Sarah Ellery and Dr. William Daughtrey conducted the ceremony, with current Cum Laude member Raleigh Maxwell ('24) serving as the student speaker. Please click here to view the full program pamphlet from the induction ceremony.
     
The following seniors were inducted into Cum Laude: Faisal Ayesh, Dennis Bottorff, Benton Brown, William Dean, Thomas Dennis, Todd Dong, Henry Huber, William Le, Jack Teasley, Cy Turner, and Haami Yassin.
      
The following juniors were inducted: Emmett Casteel, Ike Cooper, Jake Dorfman, Jack Farringer, Henry Keefer, George Ma, David Ni, Ben Poster, Arish Singhvi, and Claiborne Tompkins.
     
The following MBA staff members were inducted: Mr. Dylan Cunningham and Ms. Annie B. Williams.
     
The Cum Laude motto is "Excellence - Justice - Honor." MBA is proud of the achievements of these new members.
