Last weekend, the MBA Mock Trial team showcased its talent and dedication at the District 9 Tournament, held at the Davidson County Courthouse. MBA sent three teams to compete, and when the final verdict was in, MBA’s top team emerged as the district champion - securing the school’s 20th district title.
Led by captains Kenny Royer (’25), Kavneer Majhail (’25), and George Ma (’25), the championship team faced-off against the reigning state champion, University School of Nashville (USN), in the final round and emerged victorious. Both MBA and USN will now advance to the 2025 State Mock Trial Competition in March.
MBA’s B-team also delivered a strong performance, earning an impressive 4th place finish out of 20 teams. Several MBA students were recognized for their individual excellence: Sammy Thompson (’25), Nikhil Misra (’26), and John Dryden (’28) were named MVPs of their respective teams.
This year’s competition introduced a courtroom artistry category, and Jack Ross (’27) made history as MBA’s first-ever courtroom artist. His work will be submitted to the Tennessee Bar Association for state-wide judging.
Congratulations to all of the students and coaches for their hard work and success; we look forward to seeing MBA compete at the state championship in March.
