Big Red Outlast Tigers

The JV basketball team hung on to defeat Ensworth 48-47 on Thursday afternoon. The largest lead of the game came when the Big Red opened up 7-0, but from there no team ever led by more than five. The game was tied at half and the Big Red had a few chances to open it up but weren’t able to do so. With the game tied with one minute left, Wyatt Stimart converted one of two free throws to give MBA the lead and then won a loose ball and called a key timeout to secure possession on the other end. After Cade Sturdivant knocked down two free throws to extend the lead to three, the Big Red conceded a lay-up on the other end, and after an unfortunate turnover, were able to come up with one last stop.

In Coach Dodson’s excitement he never checked the book to get final point totals, but we were led in scoring by Cade Sturdivant and Wyatt Stimart. 

With snow on the way, the Big Red will have the weekend off before suiting back up against Lipscomb at home on Tuesday.
