This afternoon, the JV Reds put together a high quality first half that put them ahead for good versus Lipscomb Academy. Eric Chen opened the scoring, assisted when Michael Spengler expertly settled a long goal kick before then turning and slotting a pass that left Eric with only one player to beat. And he cooly did. The second score again came from Eric Chen's right foot, but only after a satisfying passing sequence where every player on the pitch touched the ball.
In the second half, the Big Red allowed a counter attack to prevent the shutout. However, quality team play persisted, with only the final quality to bulge the net lacking in the final third. The game finished with plenty of Big Red possession and a 2-1 scoreline.
We next take on Father Ryan in our rivalry game away on Friday night.
