Big Red Outlast Irish

The JV basketball team defeated Father Ryan on Friday evening 53-52. The Big Red led by three at the half and one point stretched it to 10, but the Irish fought back, taking a two point lead late in the fourth. A back and forth final few minutes saw a key steal and and-one by Cade Sturdivant and two clutch free throws by Seth Taber. With the score tied at 52, the Irish missed two free throws, allowing the Big Red to hold for the final shot. After the first attempt missed, Wyatt Stimart drew a foul with 0.2 seconds left and converted the first free throw to put the Big Red over the top.

 

Seth Taber led the way with 13 points. Wyatt Stimart had 10 and Cade Sturdivant had 9. The Big Red play three road league opponents next week.
