MBA Mathletes Enjoy Continued Success in Recent Competitions
On February 1st, 14 MBA students competed in the MATHCOUNTS Nashville Chapter Competition. With eight teams and 96 individuals competing, MBA’s four-person team of Armaan Singhvi (’29), Shaun Xu (’29), Cole Anderson (’29), and Henry Mikos (’29) won first place, securing their spot at the State Competition on March 29th. In addition, August Stone (’29) qualified for State as an individual. Six MBA students finished in the top 20 individually.
MBA also continued its strong performance in the Interscholastic Math League (IML), competing across six subject areas. After the first two contests, MBA teams ranked first overall in Algebra II, Calculus & Advanced Topics, and Statistics, second overall in Geometry and Precalculus, and third overall in Algebra I.
Finally, as a result of earning strong scores on the American Mathematics Competitions (AMC 10 and AMC 12), six MBA students – Justin Guo (’27), William Guo (’28), Eric Chen (’26), William Peng (’25), David Ni (’25), and Arish Singhvi (’25) – qualified for the recent AIME (American Invitational Mathematics Exam).
