Big Red Loses in Overtime to Pope Prep

The JV basketball team lost in overtime to Pope Prep 48-46. Despite opening up a 9 point lead early in the fourth quarter, the Big Red couldn’t sufficiently handle the Knights’ pressure and finish on the other end to secure the win. Trailing by three in the closing seconds, Loni Pughsley hit a deep three to force overtime, but in the minute long extra frame the Big Red lost the tip and conceded a basket. On the other end, five attempts at the tying or go ahead basket all didn’t find the bottom. 

 

The scorebook disappeared long before I remembered to take a picture of it, but we were led in scoring by Seth Taber, Loni Pughsley, and Wyatt Stimart.
